If you are wondering why I haven't posted in several days, the answer is listed for us at the top of this post - MobileMe. This wonderfully intentioned piece of software that I have been anticipating to take away all my syncing problems has demanded my attention and created frustration ever since last Thursday when it was supposed to go live. Even today, Tuesday July 15, I cannot get MobileMe to do what it is supposed to do.
I decided this morning that I was expending too much energy trying to figure out what was going on with MobileMe, so I was going to go back to my faithful Google alternatives and just ignore my MobileMe account. I would just pay it no mind until it decided it wanted to play nice. The sky was bright, the birds were singing and everything was good. Until... I got a call on my phone.
I noticed the number was my home number which is strange, because it usually will show my wife's custom picture, ringtone and name because the number is matched to her contact record. Hmm... hmm.... oh no, please NO! I looked at my contacts and 90% of them were gone! Not only on my phone but on my web MobileMe. How did that happen? I hadn't even touched a thing! Does it have a mind of its own? And why 90%? Why not all of them? How in the world did MobileMe know whom to delete and whom to keep. I still have no clue. This whole pretty white cloud has turned into a nasty, dark, thundering storm... and it is raining on my parade!
Anyway, I am still trying to ignore the issue and hopefully there will be a patch or an upgrade or something that will happen that will let me work through my problem in a couple days. But for now, if you have an appointment with me or call me, don't be surprised if I don't show or don't know who you are at first. My organizational system has gone rogue and there is nothing I can do to stop it! Oh, Google Calendar, how could I ever think to leave you?
