Change is Slow

Have you seen that Mastercard commercial where everyone is dancing around and having a great time; here it is...

they are all paying with their credit card and things are flying by smoothly until... one guy decides to pay with CASH! Can you believe it?! He slows down the whole process. They count out his change, he grimaces, and then life speeds right back up.

Well guess what....that may be a over-the-top comparison that may push the boundaries of reality, but it highlights my point here. Change is Slow. Not coinage change, but change in our lives. Typically there can be an exact point in our lives where change becomes definitive, but there is always a slow process leading to that change and there is always a slow process of adaptation coming out of that change as well.

Example one; delivering pizzas on the side. Yes, there was a slow process of deciding to do it and then actually taking the steps to see it happen. Then there was the definitive point of change where I actually started, February 29, 2008. And then, since, there has been the slow adjustment period of that becoming part of my weekly schedule and part of my "normal life."

Now about a month later, I feel like I have worked through the schedule upheaval and the emotional challenges that come with the change. I wish we could adjust quicker, but like I said earlier, change is slow.

If your interested, here is the clip of that video <
